All GMS2 installs require at least 3GB free disk space and an internet connection at least once a month (we would recommend always-on broadband). GMS2 also requires a 64-bit OS to install and run.

Drag and Drop (DnD™)
DnD™ gives GameMaker users the ability to create a game before having to learn how to code. It is easy to understand and allows students to experiment with different functionality.
GameMaker Language (GML)
GML is our powerful, easy to learn scripting language. Based on the C programming language, GML gives you everything that you need to make top quality games.
The minimum system requirements needed to run GameMaker Studio 2 are: 64bit Intel compatible Dual Core CPU, 2GB RAM, DX11 compliant graphics card, Microsoft 64bit Windows 7 (or above) or macOS Mojave, HDD with at least 3GB free disk space.
GameMaker Studio 2 education licences are only available for Schools, Colleges, Universities, other education activities (e.g. Summer Camps), and are not for resale or home use. An internet connection is required for use.
