As many schools, colleges and universities across the world are closing their doors to protect staff and pupils from COVID-19, we want to help educational institutions by making it easier for students to learn from home during this period.
From now until the 30th June 2020, every GameMaker Studio 2 Education licence has been extended so it will temporarily be able to support five sessions. What this means, is that for every single Education seat licence your school has purchased, you can provide the login details to five of your students and they will be able to simultaneously use GameMaker Studio 2 on their own devices at home. This extension will also apply to new licences purchased during this time frame.

This change has been made to your Education seat licences and automatically applies to them so long as they are live. We will review the situation in early June to see if we need to extend this for longer and notify you well in advance of reverting.
Using your Education account details, login to your YoYo Account and go to: https://accounts.yoyogames.com/seats, click “Create a new seat”. Create an anonymous username, select 1 seat and provide a password. This username and password combination can now be provided to five students.

No, the projects they create are accessed only by the local installation of GameMaker.
You can see the sessions associated with your licences at: https://accounts.yoyogames.com/profile/sessions and you can use this to revoke those not being used at school.
