Google recently announced a contest for European indie game developers. Developers from Europe are encouraged to submit their games for entry by the 31st of December 2016 for a chance to get your game recognized internationally by industry experts and gamers.
There are a number of prizes on offer for winning developers such as having your game showcased at a London gallery event, YouTube influencer campaigns valued at up to 100,000 EUR and various other powerful Google driven promotion and advertising opportunities. Tickets to Google I/O 2017 are also on offer.
The contest is open to all independent developers based in Europe who have published a game on Google Play after 1 January 2016. For new games being published very soon you can also enter by submitting a private beta as they describe further in their terms and conditions.
We have many GameMaker users creating excellent games for mobile: Downwell from Moppin was a big success coming out on Android, iOS and Windows. Just as cross platform and just as awesome was Crashlands from Butterscotch shenanigans in January of this year.
We want to encourage our independant developers to take part in this opportunity and potentially win some huge publicity and promotion in the process!
