A number of top quality GameMaker powered titles were present at this year's Playstation Experience event in the US. Here's a quick round up of awesome PS4 titles built with GameMaker worth keeping your eye on over 2017.
Brought to you by White Rabbit and Adult Swim Games, this love letter to Dark Souls and Castlevania has been a favourite of ours for quite some time. If you're a fan of "souls-style" deliberate, considered and methodical combat, this game is one to watch. To compliment its strong game play is a gorgeous 2d art style. Every frame of animation in this game has been crafted with love and a careful attention to detail.
Here's some recent footage of the game from Playstation Underground:
Messhof has long been a prominent GameMaker developer best known for FlyWrench and Nidhogg. Nidhogg is a top quality competitive two player game that boils the complexity of 2d fighting games down to a pure, refined core. Now with a huge graphical upgrade, new moves, arenas and weapons, Nidhogg 2 is scheduled for 2017 and was also available to play at PSX. Check out the release trailer below!
Way of the Passive Fist
Describing itself as "the licensed arcade brawler for the 90's cartoon you wish existed", this one caught us by surprise in the best of ways. Announced for the first time on November 28th aiming to release in 2017, this game changes up the brawler dynamic making the player focus on a defensive approach, deflecting and avoiding attacks while steadily charging a hidden weapon.
