Very late update, for posterity's sake: I fixed the review of E.V.O.lution a few days after being notified ;)

Sure thing. I use GraphicsGale for making sprites - it's specifically for making pixel-art, and it's free. On a background layer I draw a grid that represents the floor tiles (either straight or diagonal), and then I work on a new layer above that. From there it's all brainpower. Thanks for the compliment, and good luck :)

As with snowyowl, my computer is slow and grinds to a virtual halt at times. This game pushes my porcessor to 100% and makes it overheat ;_; which is sad because I had fun playing it!

Just read your review and yeah a little harsh but o well, maybe i can get some tips. It was my first actual game, only been on game maker for a month or so and i noticed that the game loading was a bit slow and if i went into the detail that you were hoping for, i expect the game to take forever to load. Any suggestions on making the load on game maker easier?
