GameMaker: Studio 1.4 Arrives!

GameMaker: Studio 1.4 is here and it’s absolutely packed with new features. The 1.4 update greatly improves the power of our existing modules including iOS, Android and Windows Phone. We’ve also added brand new modules in the form of our Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita exports.

Other amazing features include the new GameMaker: Marketplace and GameMaker: Player, which will change the way you make and share your GameMaker creations for the better.

GameMaker: Marketplace Beta

The new GameMaker: Marketplace Beta is now available for all users of GameMaker: Studio, right inside the IDE! You can browse hundreds of scripts, sprites, sounds, and extensions, and download them straight into your games.

Professional users can also sign up to become Marketplace publishers and share their creations with the world. For more information check out the Marketplace here.

GameMaker: Player Beta

Now you can share and promote your games with the brand new GameMaker: Player! The GameMaker: Player is a cross-platform application which allows all users of GameMaker: Studio to instantly share their creations with the world.

Your audience isn’t restricted to users of GameMaker: Studio, anyone can download the GameMaker: Player for free and dive into the selection of games! For more information check out the Player page here.


Console Exports

With the new exports for Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita, GameMaker: Studio now publishes to more platforms than ever before! With just a few clicks your game can be published on desktops, mobiles, the web, and consoles all from one code base.

Improved Audio Support

Audio features have been dramatically improved in this iteration of GameMaker: Studio. Audio groups allow you to control when sounds are loaded for better performance, plus our new buffer system and microphone support opens up new possibilities for your games for features such as multiplayer voice-chat.

LiquidFun Particle Physics

Create realistic, visually-impressive physics games with the newly implemented LiquidFun library. This powerful, particle-based physics engine is easy to implement and fun to play with.


More Powerful Modules

Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8 now support both the YoYo Compiler and extensions, meaning that you have even more room for creative freedom with your mobile, tablet and desktop games.

iOS 8 Support

As mobile environments grow and evolve for the better, GameMaker: Studio does too. With this update the iOS export supports publishing to iOS 8, the newest version of Apple’s popular operating system.

IDE Improvements

With tabbed scripts, resource filtering, an improved image editor, performance enhancements and more, the improved GameMaker: Studio IDE will make developing your perfect game and even more enjoyable experience.
