T.U.C.2 3D Review
By BanovG on 16 December 2007

Pros: Graphics, gameplay, it's fun in general

Cons: Various things pertaining to the design, no story

Good!

It's really good right now. The 3D graphics are really, really awesome, and shooting the enemies was fun. The levels were fairly well designed, though there a bit more backtracking than I'd like- that's more of a preference, though. One thing that would be nicer is platforms that were easier to jump to and from- often I'd hit my head on the ceiling of another platform and plummet all the way down again. Argh.

The game didn't have any glaring flaws, but quite a few small ones relating mostly to how it was designed.

My main issue was that it was a little hard for beginners. Enemies didn't drop health pickups, and there were a lot of areas dense with enemies- especially ones you couldn't shoot at. You didn't give any controls, so I had to figure out everything myself... I didn't know how to pause until I hit Esc to try and quit the game. And even then, we never knew how to equip new weapons, so I didn't get to try the handgun.

Speaking of pausing- I had to rely on the map heavily once I found it, but it got annoying having to pause and then open up the map, especially since both took some load time. It would be very convenient to pull up the map with one of the keyboard buttons instantly, no middle man.

Another thing that would be nice would be slightly more forgiving respawning. It was really frustrating to die and then start ALL over again ( I ended up dying shortly after getting the green card). That was when I stopped playing.

One final thing- this game really needs a story to drive it right now. Please look into that.
