Puck Review
By Ryan-Phoenixan on 09 October 2007

Pros: -A Simple Puzzle Game that Works -Fitting Graphics -Easy to Understand -Level Designer Included

Cons: -Slow (Boring Even) at Game Start -No Option to Skip Tutorial -Music is manually changed, and there are only 3 tracks to choose from.

Worth Trying

This game is a puzzle game with simple and understandable rules, and the objective is very straight-forward: get the puck into the round hole. Various tools are at your disposal to direct the puck into the hole, and there equally many obstacles to make it dodge.

The game starts off very slow, even to the point of being boring, but if you can get past that, it's worth playing to reach the later, more difficult, levels. In addition, there is sadly no way to skip the tutorial. You're forced to play it first before moving onto the first level (which is also pretty much a no-brainer to solve). The plus-side to the game design though is that there's a level designer available, so you can throw in as many obstacles and challenges as you'd like for friends that might play the game.

The music is fitting and interesting at first, but since there are only 3, which have to be changed manually via the menu at the bottom right corner, so over time, the music tends to drone on and get more and more annoying. As for sound effects, there were none that I was aware of, which added to the monotony of the music.

The graphics are fairly straight-forward. There's nothing too fancy, but it's fitting and non-distracting for this kind of game, which is a good thing.

Overall, this is worth a try, but I can't give this game any big awards without improvements.
