Pros: Eye catching interface, good presentation, nice music.
Cons: Main game doesn't last long enough, story is bad and unnecessary, your objective in Championship mode isn't clear enough.
Rockerture Facilities Review- by Shad
Hello, and welcome to my review for Rockerture Facilities, which is a game inspired by Mark Overmar's Catch the Clown, notable for been featured in the "first game" tutorial.
I'd like to say to the creator of Rockerture Facilities that no offence is intended, these are purely my opinions on the game, and what I personally think needs improving.
Firstly, when you have downloaded Rockerture Facilities, you'll be face to face with a .ZIP file, which includes 1. The readMe, and 2. The installer for the game itself.
The readMe is set out very neatly, and contains the credits, installation instructions, system specifications, etc. While this certainly is, no doubt, good presentation, it seems a little too much for such a solid (and small) game.
Obviously, clicking on the installer will install the game. Very good presentation, but again, maybe a bit too much for a solid (and small) game.
And now, for the game.
As soon as you start Rockerture Facilities, a nice loading image comes up, and then you are brought to the menu......
Which is actually quite good.
Its so neatly set out, the buttons look cool, and the writing is pretty damn fancy, and did I mention the background?
There are 4 buttons in the menu- Play, Championship, Information, and Exit. Clicking on Information tells you the basic objective of the game, and the controls.
Clicking on Play brings you to the main game.
The main game, is pretty solid. The first thing you'll notice that just seems wrong is that the score and Level name is in the top left corner, just near the blocks. While this is not neccessarily annoying, its pretty pointless, considering the score and level name is on the game windows bar.
The main game can take up to 30 minutes to complete. The graphics of the main game are decent, cartoony graphics. The music is nice, especially the Level 4 Music, Level 5 Music, and Level 6 Music.
The main problem with the main game..... is thats its too.... easy. Sure, your greeted with a medium difficulty last level which is pretty funny at the end, but all you need to do complete this level is simply click the clown once- and then you complete the game, your shown the "you completed the game message" and your shown the credits.
And the story is bad. Not only is it bad, its completely unnecessary for a game where you just click on a clown, and a decent story for a game like this would be hard to create anyway.
So the main game is nothing special. Its not bad, but its not really good either. The worst thing about the levels is that they are too short, and too easy.
So after the main game, there isn't much to do. Well, there's the rather boring "Championship Mode"
To clarify, Championship Mode gives you 6 difficulty modes- Newcomer, Rookie, Trainee, Intern, Attending, Master.
The main question here is WHAT is the objective.
Actually, there doesn't seem to be one.
There isn't much I can say about Championship Mode. In Trainee mode, however, there's a chance you'll get stuck in a tight spot- likely between a rock and a wall- and you'll bump into the rock, and into the wall, losing you a chunk of points.
Overall, Rockerture Facilties is a solid effort, but once the main game is completed, you'll spend about 5 minutes on Championship Mode before quitting the game. The main game is too short, and the Championship Mode doesn't seem to have an objective.
Thank you for reading the review.

Thanks for the review.
The objective of the Championship mode is you have to try and get the highest score possible. That mode is messy, but I put more effort into the real game.
I made that installer so that the game can be installed like any other commercial game. In my opinion, that's a better way of storing the game files, and easy to find, as an icon is created.
The only story is in the beginning. The other messages are not the story. They warn you about hazards and congratulate you.

Also it's not supposed to be hard. I'm sure there will be players that will find this hard. If I make another clown game (which is unlikely to be made) then it will be for hardcore gamers.
I put the score and the room title in the top left of the game, because I wouldn't like them to display in the window.
That's what I had to say, anyway, very informative and helpful review, thanks.
