project rpg comunity 1.0 Review
By sunfire on 08 July 2007

Pros: Great RPG engine, Nice effects

Cons: Unoriginal Sprites, It is impossible to heal characters

Decent RPG

It was pretty nice when I first started playing. I got into my first battle and thought, oh thats pretty cool. As soon as I won that battle I got into another without even moving. After that battle I took three steps and was forced to fight again. I think a few things need to be fixed:
1. Less chance of encountering monsters.
2. Clearly labeled HP and MP
3. All the numbers for time and HP for monsters needs to go away.
4. Damage should round so that players don't do 10.37693 damage.

Score
Graphics 3
Sound 3
Gameplay 5
Story 1
Interface 2

I have waited a few weeks to see how this game has grown. While the sprite are not original that is no longer an issue. For what is currently implemented into the game it works almost flawlessly. The only issue that I noticed was that the heal spell would not cast on a character and it is impossible to loose mp. As for the execution of the menus it is almost flawless. I never once encountered a bug in my brief time testing this game, when it came to the menus.

Battles are, like a said before, still a little buggy. The fact that I cant heal my characters is my biggest complaint. Especially when I have a cleric on my team. After battle results are executed almost exactly like that of Final Fantasy VII.

Sounds are nice. Every sound makes sense and fits well with the game.

If I were to offer some suggestions I would have to suggest the following:
1. Clearly label who is the person I am currently making actions for.
2. Character Advancement! Its everyones favorite part of RPGs.

I must say the game is very well done at this point, but still has a lot of work needed. I look forward to seeing where this goes.
