The City Streets 2 Review
By Kelvin - Anderson on
27 November 2008
Pros: Graphics, Sounds, Moding Shop, Weapons
Cons: Wall Collisions , A.I gets confused after a while.
Perfect
Pros:
That car engine is perfect, VERY realistic. I like the 3D buildings, all the weapons are good but the flame throwers flame is to small.
Mod Shop is good, I was in the tiny beetle thing and got all upgrades, top speed was like 200kmh.
The car engine sounds are good. How did you get the sound to speed up and the gear changing?
is it midi sequences?
Cons
You wanted to know all bugs so this is what I found.
The first thing i noticed was when u hit a wall and keep accellerating the sound keeps playing.
have you tryed this code in the colision event?
if speed>4{sound_play(sound name here)}
The other collision, I don't know if you ment to do this but when the peds get hit by a car it hits them untill thier dead.
I thought it would be better if it checks the speed of the car and if it's at top speed or not far off than it should kill them straight
out. The A.I is VERY GOOD but i found that after a while the ped cars get confused and dont move and why cant you steal those cars?
Other than that, this is heading towards a perfect GTA clone.
Keep it up.

I cant be bother editing the review. With the billboards you should allow cars to go under if the fit between the two poles. I dont know how many time I tried that and thought I would go straight under.

Thank you very much for your honesty!
Car engine sounds are ogg files which change frequency depending on the speed of the car.
With the wall and car collisions i will try to do every thing i can to make the sound only play once. With the ped collisions i will just make it so that it takes health depending on car mass ans speed so that the slower cars can still kill the peds in a realistic ammopunt of hits. I will add a new mask for the billboards. Ant the A.I still needs work anyway.
