A Slightly Difficult Game Review
By Jaret on
15 November 2008
Pros: Easy controls, challenging
Cons: Too hard, music gets repetitive, landing is too slow.
Timing, timing, timing....
A Slightly Difficult Game should be called "The hardest platforming game imaginable". Like every platformer, this game is extremely addicted and will have you hooked after your first few deaths. Yes, you will die. The point of the game was to challenge hardcore platformers to their limit and succeeds amazingly.
The game is easy to pick up and play where the only controls are the arrow keys. The game also features a hypnotic tune which gets trapped in your head and doesn't want to leave. The problem is with as long as you are going to play the game, a variety of music would have been better.
This game is about timing and reflexes. The player is forced to deal with many things at once. For example, you may have to jump over a series of spikes where some shoot up at you while dodging flashing bullets and avoiding a giant red plant. And that's just in the first level. This is all good but there is one problem which you will notice. That is that when the character lands, he tends to be slow at it. Though this is very minor, it can mean death.
Though I only played the first level and never beat it but died a minimum of 70 times, this game is deemed EXPERT DIFFICULTY.... Not for the faint of heart...
