Zero Suit Metroid Review

Pros: Fairly long, good level design, many bosses.
Cons: Unpolished gameplay, frustrating situations abund.
Very good Metroid game
It's been a while since I've played a finished GM Metroid game.
Even if the controls take some time to adapt, this game has the key elements to a sucessful Metroid game.
There's rewarding exploration, bosses, abilities that enable you to explore even further, etc.
The general design is quite good, even if there are some details missing, like enemy death animations (or even sound). The game gets the job done, after you complete it gives the satisfaction of having beaten a Metroid game, that is, if you manage to even complete it without falling into frustration.
There's many moments where the game is VERY unbalanced, and you'll be taking damage very cheaply. There's falling rocks that will hit you almost always, and there's places where you have to go close to the ceiling, unable to predict where the rocks will fall. Boss fights are fun, but you can die easily if you are unlucky. The Moai boss teleports randomly, and I died many times when it teleported right into me. Or the Ridley fight, if you get cornered, you'll lose 4 or 5 energy tanks in a couple of seconds.
Anyway, if you can overlook these details, you'll enjoy this excellent game.
