Pros: - Nice Grafics, clean and simple, not advanced and ugly. - Song editor !!! - Fast loading times, many GM clones take like hours to load.
Cons: - Faster notes can be messy. - Notes can get out-of-sync. - No Hammer-Ons !! :(
The Best GM Guitar Hero Clone
This is the best Guitar Hero clone made in Gamemaker. That's my opinion. It has many well coded songs that are included. They are in the midi format. With the inbuilt songs can get out-of-sync sometimes but that is because of how midi files are built.
Graphics: It's simple, but it's still good. Because often more fancy graphics get extremely ugly. And slow the game down. This is almost perfect! But upgrading the graphics without making it ugly would make it perfect.
Sound: As I said before, the built in songs are of the midi format. They some times get out-of-sync (see in the beginning). But if you make a own song that uses the wma or mp3 format as I've done they keep in sync. Keep using Midis! Faster downloading, yey!
Game play: Fun fun fun. Though if you play a custom song that has fast notes (no built in is so fast) it will get messy and hard to see what combination's you need to press. And the notes could come a bit faster. Add Hammer-Ons please (tapping, press one, just tap F1-F5 the last)...
Add support for long notes too please ;)
Overall: Very fun to be a GM GH clone! Though a bit upgrading would do the trick. Like, Hammer-Ons, Long Notes and a more advanced song editor. So you don't just need to record a entire song. You should be able to also click and drag notes to it's place.
Good Luck!
