Boxman and Boxbro 4: Boxes in time Review
By blopiter on 13 October 2008

Pros: Practically bug free, many bosses, cool text effects, graphics were charming

Cons: nothing here that i havn't seen before, music was used before, gameplay is basicaly mario, interface wasn't new, reused the 'lets get back home' story.

Nothing new here

im gunna be picky as this game is rated 4.2 stars. i find some enemies are too easy and some are too hard none are in the middle (except maybe the bouncing one but it hardly bounces so its quite easy). and hard enemies like the second boss, you need so much luck just to kill it and then if you miss you cant get back up so you loose a life. Next i think you should have told us you can shoot arrows underwater, i thought it was impossible to beat that big circle thing. and in the story it tells us they got lost in a maze. I have no clue why theyre in a maze in the first place. and the graphix, they could be better (that is a very dull time machine).
and the skull enemies are a waste of bytes, as they're exactly like the regular boxes except differnt sprites.
and it is very annoying how the same music restarts after i beat a 3second level, it's like a broken record.
and this wasn't a big issue but those 'T' shaped platforms confused me because i thought you couldn't go under them.

cactuses - just jump over them. they don't move, and kill you if you even touch them
Fire box - kinda like the rage boxes from Boxman 3
mini yellow box - he moves across the level, and bounces off of walls

The new types of enemies right now are

Light cyberbox - an enemy that skids accross the ground, but moves slower than regular cyberbox
Dark cyberbox - Kinda like a combonation of the boucning box, and regular cyberbox. he can jump
Thwomp - Same as mario, get under them, and they fall.
Super thwomp - only seen in desert land. he falls faster
Mega thwomp - only seen in fire land, he falls way faster than regular thwomps

Boxman 5 fixes almost all of those problems

- More types of enemies, none are sprite changes
- Graphics are much better, and look hardly anything like Boxman 4
- Music is different at some parts
- the bosses are simple, and medium
