deaths Review

Pros: An amusing, clever gameplay concept, integrating the deaths of other, anonymous players in both a psychological sense (a warning of danger) and altering gameplay by those corpses being solid objects changing the playing surface.
Cons: Crude graphics, limited platforming gameplay, clunky controls, and a failure to wholly capitalise upon the great foundation idea.
A good idea
I have to rate the game low in every field, because it is not in Graphics, Sound, Gameplay, Story, or Interface that Deaths excels. It is in -potential-, and the quality of an original idea.
I beseech 2Dcube to work on this further, and to focus his attention on, importantly, more fluid and varied gameplay, a higher 'corpse cap', and a much more detailed system of death and dismemberment, capitalising fully upon the great concept and expanding it to show not only where a player died, but how. I want to see sprays of blood up the wall showing the direction the limbs flew off! ;)
More 'invisible' or subtle traps would be nice as well, forcing a cautious, tense approach to the map, fearful of every spot of blood. A true Indiana Jones style tomb-crawl, scanning for all evidence of booby traps and past victims ;)
Well done, and good luck..

What do you mean, "crude graphics"? Didn't you notice the walls 3d effect, or the dead bodies which litter the screen and decompose as they get older? Come on...
