Pros: + has a sort of novelty to it
Cons: - its rock, paper, scissors
What More Did You Expect?
Now, let me explain. Everyone knows rock, paper, scissors, and everyone knows the game takes no skill.
Well, it does. But only in person. The skill in rock, paper, scissors comes from outwitting your opponent; tricking them into throwing out the wrong symbol. The game is also often times used for "random" selection to choose who does various tasks.
This game does not offer any level of "trickery" that rock, paper, scissors has (although its quite shallow). I realize the attempt was to cash in on some form of humor, but it really fails at that. Its just too slow, motion blur doesn't help the feeling of "I'm playing rock, paper, scissors and my scissors are going way too slow". Its not like there is any surprise at the end of all that waiting, as soon as you've seen rock hit the screen and you threw out scissors, you know its over. There's no point in waiting for that to happen.
Unless of course you have some sort of visual effect, which the game makes a quick stab at but really falls short. Some unique animations would have been nice rather than the same particle burst effect for each item. Even multiple, randomly selected, "win" animations would be nice. I can see the paper struggling to fight free from the scissors grasp only to be cut in half and looking at itself in shame. The music is not original, and there's nothing going for the sounds.
I gave Interface a 3, because... there's not much more you can really do with it. Spicing it up a bit would be nice, I didn't even see the buttons change color when I highlighted over them.
I actually think keyboard control of sifting through menus would have actually made this game slightly more engaging, but it still doesn't have the feel, or even the usefulness, that true rock, paper, scissors can offer. Which isn't much to begin with.
