Pros: Cutscenes, size, gameplay, plot
Cons: freezing issues, lack of voice acting.
Holy freakin' crud!
The 3-D cut-scenes impress like nothing else. The game itself is loads of fun, and fairly expansive. I played for 2 1/2 hours. The fighting is awesome, made more awesome still by the variety of weaponry and equipment. The plot is a definite win. I don't like the ending, but author's peroggitive. Definitely ought to be a staff pick, or something.
There are however, issues. The full-motion cut-scenes, while beautiful are fewer and shorter than I would have liked. Additionally, there are times where your character freezes, but everything else still functions. This can be frustrating. A minor gripe is that there are text cut-scenes, wherein you pres space to proceed through a series of pictures with text. In this manner, the story is revealed. I cannot help wishing that these had instead been full-motion 3-D with voice-overs. On a related not, the models never change. Thus, whether Etan is feeling shocked, angry or perplexed, he always look the same. However, the option to skip minigames was inspired.
Overall, a great game. definitely worth the time.
And the outtakes had me laughing my head off.
