Theseus and the maze Review

Pros: * lovely animation and pixel art * challenging puzzle orientated gameplay * nice music * nice feel
Cons: * not a whole lot of story * not a lot of variety in environment * although the music is nice, it does become repetitive
Solid and graphically pleasing.
The pixel art in this platformer is lovely and the strong emphasis on puzzles was a good move, since they were actually quite cleverly constructed and well thought out. The game does seem rather frustrating at first, although once you've collected the first power-up to jump a little higher, the environment does start opening up a little more. Even after this, collecting the gems is pretty slow going but this isn't necessarily a bad thing, you just need a little patience. The soundtrack is actually quite catchy but all too short and does become repetitive.
As cute as it is, for those that have little patience, Theseus probably isn't for you. For those that enjoy a challenge: highly recommended.
