Wubly² Review

Pros: Innovative, actually has a storyline, very original world map, creative level designs, requires strategy
Cons: INVISIBLE BLOCKS, stale music, plain backgrounds
A good game to pick up and play
This is a game worthy of your time, but not too much of it.
The gameplay style is simple yet effective: grapple in any direction, press space to let go and fall. This allows for an interesting blend of both gaming agility (quick keywork) and puzzle solving to get the job done.
Throughout the game, different types of blocks, such as electric blocks, fire blocks, and enemies pop up, allowing for even more variety.
However, eventually things get stale and frustrating. I'm fine with difficulty, but It's frustrating when I die and then I have to go through an entire complex maze of INVISIBLE BLOCKS to reach a simple switch in order to advance. A simple non-challenging yet time-consuming maze is bad enough, but one made of invisible blocks? That's just wrong.
Those simple little cons were annoying, but you could choose a different level if you did not like the one you were playing. Overall, this is a good gamemaker game, and definetally shows the power that gameplay has over graphics (in other words...the graphics weren't that great. Simplicity always has a good side to it, though.)
