Pyro Damo Stick Figure Version: Endless Space Complete Review
By djrellik on 04 June 2007

Pros: Multiplayer, many bosses, great AI in overall, its originality, players' and enemies' sprites look pretty good, good music choice, nice megaman feel with the ability to change your weapon and charge your main one.

Cons: Feel rushed, way too many collision glitches, levels are too simple, too short and lack of personalization, all the graphics creating the surrounding don't look really good, some bosses are near impossible without special weapons

Great potential, hoping for a better sequel.

It is sad that this game has so many cons because it still had a lot of potential. First of all the originality of the characters and the story make it a pretty interesting game. The AI of the bosses is also really great for the fact that they are all using their own style and attacks. The bad thing though that some of them are way too hard and can't be beaten without their weakpoint or some extreme rapid button smashing. While the bosses are the strongest point of the game, the levels to get to them are the weakest. Some of them are way too short (Rock Mincher's level is the best example) and most of them really lack of personalizations. Acutally, other than Reaping Pelow's and Flying Junny's level, I haven't felt much difference from one level to another.

Well I hope you won't take anything I said bad, I tried to be constructive because I felt that your game really had potential. If you take everything you have now, improve the graphics(blocks and background mostly), create more enemies for each level, add some varieties to your levels(moving platforms, falling blocks, switches that make you able to progress when activated, shortcuts using a special weapon, mini bosses, ect, etc), fix all the collision glitches(I know it could be hard though depending on how good you are with gm), improve the control(making the main character moving faster and jumping higher without dashing would already be good), decreasing the difficulties of the bosses(giving the ability to avoid all the different attacks would be good ;)) and making the save system work, we'd have an awesome game here. Well anyway, good luck for the next project and my best suggestion is don't rush anything and you'll have a great game.
