Bounty Hunter PC Review

Pros: Impressive use of the Doom interface; Every gun is worth using; Encountering enemies right in front of me as I turn a corner unexpectingly; Superb music choices
Cons: Relies too heavily on large armies being in one room; The state you're in when you reach 5% health; Passing the boss when I should be forced to fight him; When you're done, you feel like more should be there, even though the experience was worth it
(Boba?) Fett Strikes Back with a Sturdy Vengeance
Bounty Hunter PC is a great experience to run through if you have about ten minutes to kill and a bloodthirst to quench. That being said, the length of the game isn't very large, but the core game experience itself is well worth it.
Graphics: The type of Doom graphics one comes to expect. There should have been more to explore, but for how much the game has, I can't imagine it being much longer than one more level or two.
Sound: The music in this game is compelling. While they're taken from the Star Wars films (I would guess anyways), they make for perfect background music while traversing the Doom realm. The dialogue used is welcome for this game and makes the atmosphere of the game more interesting and engaging. All the required sounds to make this game complete are present and you can even make the barrels explode.
Gameplay: Fighting the monsters is a lot of fun for a person like me since I do not regularly play Doom games. Still, I am persistent enough to strafe back and forth from the corner of a wall to shoot people when my health is low. This being the case, I have to admit the walls are annoying. You can't possibly play this game and perform this action without getting stuck and having to move in the opposite direction. This hinders the game slightly though, since you're probably just wanting to go through a corridor without that problem and simply ignore hugging the walls at times. The gunplay isn't all so bad, since you're provided with a set of dual pistols that have infinite ammo (but the heat limit is present to keep you from abusing them too much). You also get a few other weapons such as the machine gun and shotgun. These are both equally vital to the game being fun, since you'll need to mow down larger enemies as the game goes on. The shotgun acts as an instant-killer for the humans and the machine gun is great for when you meet one of those annoyingly-forced armies that you can't pass without destroying. Last but not least, the boss. I decided to take on the boss with the same weapon he had and... died. The next time I played I managed to skip him and, thus, won the game. This kind of sucked since it acts as an anti-climax of sorts. I knew the game was too long for me to play again at that time so I finished playing. Another thing to add is that shooting around corners is very difficult.
Story: While there is no huge story to it, it's just simply engaging enough to keep you to the end where a boss fight ensues. The dialogue in the game is the major contributor to this.
Interface: The overall premise is that you're playing a Doom as (Boba?) Fett and have many items at your disposal throughout the game. Not the huge arsenal you carry I mean, but the arsenal that's constantly laid out for you when you are running out of ammo, health, and whatnot. This makes the game much more appealing, since you'll definitely be getting around to picking up most of the items and weapons with no delay as to if you need them. There are a variety of checkpoints to make you feel safer after many gunfights. You'll have to rely on these when your health is low and sometimes you'll meet your Doom (haha) when you come across yet another large army of monsters and humans in a room when the health is right behind them. To make this game better, more should have been added to this game. As I've said before, this game is probably the right amount for a fun time-killer and only a few more killer levels would do this game justice.
Overall, this game is a blast for as long as it lasts. You can't really see too much negative things about it other than its length and the wall problem. Furthermore, the improvements that could be made are more content and more engaging things to make the game feel even more worthy of a game.
