Pros: Addictive and Fun, Nice Arcade "Feel", and Challenging
Cons: Repetitive Game Play, Low Replay Value
Moderately Fun and Addictive Arcade Game
This is a top-down arcade style game. You control a ship and shoot and destroy enemies that appear on the map for points. Your ship also has a level, which basically represents how many shots you fire. As you destroy enemies, your Level goes up, and thus allows you to take on more enemies. You start out with three lives as well as three "Nitro" Bombs, which destroy nearby enemies when used. If you touch an enemy, you will lose a life and go back to Level 1. The object of the game is to get the highest score you can.
One thing that struck me when playing this game were the graphics. They all have that classic Arcade "Feel" to them. The particles were also a nice addition to the looks that felt like an arcade game.
However, as with many games, the game play becomes repetitive after awhile.
The controls are a bit difficult, but I think this adds more to the challenge then detracts from the game.
Like most Arcade Games, this one lacks story, but the lack of story isn't a major problem.
Something I think could have been improved upon somewhat is the Sound. Having only one sound track for an Arcade game is understandable, however, the game has no sound effects, which was kind of disappointing.
Overall, if you're into Arcade style games, you'll probably enjoy this one.
