Pros: Nice gameplay with a retro feel!
Cons: Can get repetative at some points.
Aertcz review on "Bit Warrior"
This game had a very authentic retro feel to it, which I liked immensly. Although you may be wondering why I gave the game such a high graphics and sound rating, just remember that the game is meant to be like this (Not the next Rainbow Six).
The game had a very nice vareity of upgrades, shops, enemies, and attacks. There was no straight path to the end of the map like normal platformers (cough cough Mario), but instead had a Free-Roam type of setting. This free roam setting made the game a lot more intresting as I was able to have fun beating up side bosses and finding treasures. The game even has some sense of humor which you may pick up on if you read a sign which is in the game! :)
Although the game did have its nice highpoints, it did have a few low points. The game had a very moderate interface and way of displaying the energy and health bar. The health and energy bar were the only 2 things in the game which didn't give it that retro feel and made it seem out of place. Eventually from playing after a while, the game did get somewhat repetative.There were also a few glitches such as:
-the character facing one way, and you moving another way;
-the character not moving its legs;
-coins getting stuck in the wall;
-while performing a double jump under a platform, the character gets "jumpy";
-the game may experience lag when a boss is defeated and a ton of coins appear
Other than that, it was a great game and I really enjoyed it.
Note: I am going to put that image in my sig :)
