Lux Review

Pros: Easy gameplay, graphic effects look nice, fun to play, slightly addictive
Cons: If any, I would have to say the scoring system and the lack of a story, but they are not that bad
Lux on your side
Lux is a very fun game to play. In my opinion, it deserves the staff pick it has been given, however it might take a few people a little while to realize why. Pretty much the only issue I have with this game is the scoring system. It took me a little while to realize it, but your score is not added up for the total. Your score is the max combo amount you received during the game. It could take a long time to get a good score, but that is one of the factors that contributes to the addictiveness of this game.
The only other issues I have are the lack of a story, but that didn't stop some of the classic games ("cough" Tetris "cough"), and the lack of advanced graphics, but the effect of the simple graphics in how they act and explode more than make up for that. Also, the sound can get slightly annoying, if this game is played too much in one session of playing.
I personally like the way the combo system itself is. There is an advantage to your combos starting at one place and going in one general direction, like a chain, as opposed to starting the combo in the middle and receiving less points. The factors such as that and the couple of powerups that boost your combo score really add a somewhat strategic plan for this game. Wtih all of that said, Lux is definitely worth playing over and over again. Kudos, ryguydavis, kudos!

I just noticed another mistakenly forgotten feature, although I did breifly touch this point. In the graphics effect part, I especially like the way that the white & red orbs, the dangerous ones, seem to implode when they detonate themselves. I also like the way that the small dots rotate around all of the orbs.

1. Thanks to damo566's review, I realized that I, too, liked how the learning curve is programmed into this game. It isn't too gradual, and it isn't too rapid. I would say it is just about right.
2. Thanks to Tobs's review, I realized that I forgot to mention the online highscores. They can be very useful to determine where you stand in rankings with other people across the globe.
With these accidentily forgotten objects, it makes me realize even more how good a game Lux is.

The sound isn't too bad, though. I only said it could get annoying if played too much at one time. Also, I just read through a few other reviews, and realized a couple of things I forgot to mention in my review, so they will go in the next comment box (running out of room).
