I too have two hands, but it doesn't make sense to use both hands for movement. By using only one hand for movement, your second hand can be used for attack/special buttons. The way you have it at the moment makes the player have to learn an entirely new way of moving. I found myself pressing up and down millions of times thinking it would make the character move up/down, to find my penguin stuck in the same place just before getting hit by an enemy and loosing a life.
