Hey Starmetroid, if you want smooth movement in which you don't have to continually press a button many times over, set it to "On Hold" for the direction. It's the keyboard icon with out any arrows on it. That way it will perform the action 30 times a second if you're holding the buttons down. You may want to reduce the amount of distance each step takes you, though.

Alright everyone. I'm sorry it took me so long to get my attention back to this game. I have made a little preview/mod/demo/sampler from the same engine. It's not much, but it shows I'm a responsive person and that I haven't died. http://www.yoyogames.com/games/show/95150

I like how smooth the camera controls are in this game compared to just about any other 3D Game Maker game. It's nowhere near as fluid as a commercial release, but it's really good for an amateur game. Keep it up!

The biggest problem I found with the first version of the game was the fact that tehere were so many buttons for use (5 in total, besides key pad). The first thing I'd want to do is to tighten up the controls. The enemy AI needs to be improved a bit, and some new levels need to be designed, and a system of summoning your allies in attacks would be nice, too...
