When you set out to make a big complicated game the drag and drop icons will be an experts chore . They are awesome and I am very thankful for them because they allowed me to make my first games without the need to learn a programming language . But now that I have used them to the limit it was time to jump to GML . I also use a combination of both . Some things are just plain easier with D&D. Consider learning GML as soon as you can , is easier than you think .
