Really cool, but I found a glitch.
A guy with a chainsaw came really close, he sawed off the tree but the apples were still there (floating?) and I kept on using them. =)

That was no glitch.
You must have hit the chainsaw man right before your tree turned almost invisible, your apples will fall after the image_alpha of the tree is below 0. If your tree is slightly transparent, or really transparent, just wait for the old lady with the watering can to come by, and she'll make it go back to full visibility.
