and since I didn't have a pause button (don't worry, I understand that's the least of your worries at first), I just kinda hit Esc to take my call.) On another note, the start-stop of the music during the menu is pretty disconcerting.

Good, solid control and hit detection! (How many complete games lack in this department?) Looks like you're on the right track, there. Good job.

But as everyone else has said, the camera lagging behind Sonic is an issue that I expect will make end users not want to play for long.
