i see interpolation, illusions of infinity, cast shadows, sunlight blending and lots and lots of high-quality features. the only con is you have to hold shift to walk instead of crawl....

Actually, those soft shadows on the building and terrain are actually lightmaps. Even with U3D, it would be overkill to try and get that kind of quality in GM. I may and try and implement basic shadowmaps (think Halo: CE style shadows), but it depends. Due to the way the terrain works, it would prove to be a royal pain in the butt to get it to work with terrain.
