So please, would you let someone learning to program use your source to better understand programming? Please?

The reason that I wanted the source is because I am extremely new to game maker or for that matter any programming. Though I am able to understand any type of plain english programming if i can take a look at it. the source would help me accomplish two things. First-i would learn how to use that type of programming. Second-I would be able to, if the publisher gives me permission, use the same models in my game. I would greatly appreciate it if I could and I promise to give the publisher credit.
